OMPA Adds Energy Services Technician

The Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority (OMPA) has announced the addition of a new Energy Services Technician to help administer the Demand and Energy Efficiency Program (DEEP).

Kyle Sykes joins OMPA after seven years of working in the oil and gas industry, as well as information technology. A Guthrie native, he graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Applied Sociology and from Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City with a degree in General Engineering Technology.

The DEEP program provides rebates to qualified commercial and industrial customers who implement retrofits that reduce their demand at peak times. It can apply to a variety of projects, including lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, commercial food service equipment, pumps and motors that are replaced with more energy-efficient models.

So far this year, the DEEP program has awarded 27 projects a total of $144,235 in rebates.
