Mayor Charles Lamb Honored by Municipal Electric Systems of Oklahoma

Ray Duffy Personal Service Award bestowed on Lamb for second time.

 

The Municipal Electric Systems of Oklahoma (MESO) Board of Directors and members selected Edmond Mayor Charles Lamb as the 2013 recipient of the Ray Duffy Personal Service Award.  The award honors Lamb’s work for helping lead the state’s efforts in promoting and telling citizens about the value public power brings to individual communities.

Mayor Lamb becomes the first two-time recipient of the Ray Duffy award, after being recognized with the 2003 award.  At that time, he was the first elected official in the state to be receive the award.

“It’s not often you find an elected official with the tenure of Mayor Lamb continuing his active and very vocal promotion of municipal power.” Tom Rider, MESO general manager stated.

“Mayor Lamb works tirelessly in promoting public power at both the state and federal levels, while ensuring that Edmond has a first-rate system that can stand as a show piece against any system in the country.”
