PRAGUE HONORED FOR TOP INNOVATIVE PROGRAM

The City of Prague was the recipient of the 2017 Municipal Innovations Award for a population of under 10,000 for its “Prague Community Garden” project during Thursday’s Oklahoma Municipal League Annual Awards Breakfast.

The Prague Community Garden was created by the Prague Turning Point Coalition as a way to promote healthy eating in the community. The project is organized and run by volunteers with supplies such as hoses, sprinklers, soil, and even certain plants were donated by various organizations around Oklahoma.

The City of Prague is providing healthy food and a heartwarming hobby to its citizens, supporting a national effort to promote healthy eating and organic choices.  Everyone is welcome to come by the garden to pick for their families completely free of charge.

Prague is one of OMPA’s 42 member cities.
